Roman Catholicism and Ecumenism

Roman Catholicism is a religion that can't make up its mind. I'd really love to say that Rome itself is really self-contradictory in many ways. Reading through Truth Encounter by Anthony Pezzotta can make one see how one manmade doctrine after the other was inserted into the Roman Catholic system. Roman Catholicism has claimed itself to be the one true Church founded by Jesus in 33 AD but how true can it be? The Popes claimed their religion is apostolic because they could supposedly trace themselves back to Peter. However, Peter never received homage from anyone! Peter never accepted other religions either! Peter never was the head of any visible universal church. Rather, Peter was the apostle to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles. Paul would've probably qualified more to be the first Pope than Peter.

Back as a child, I was told by my mother to never pray inside the Buddhist and Taoist temples because they were idols. Yet later, the same mother who tells me not to do it now accepts other religions and says it's the lifestyle that matters. The era of John Paul II was described with ecumenism. Theresa of Calcutta was also an advocate for ecumenism. John Paul II didn't only embrace Billy Graham as his brother. Also, the Trinity Broadcasting Network is an ecumenical network - that's one reason why I stopped watching when I used to watch it when I was newly saved. The ecumenism got even worse when we saw pictures of John Paul II have alliances with Muslim religious leaders and the recent 14th Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama is like the Pope of Tibetan Buddhism. The evidence is clear yet some Roman Catholic fanatics will deny saying that Pope Francis and John Paul II are just "being missionaries". Well, they do have a problem now because the Vatican II Council is ecumenical. I guess that's why sites and ministries like the Vatican Catholic and True Catholics attempt to separate themselves from the legitimacy of the Vatican II Council.

Consider the stance on ecumenism. I was told that whether I became a Protestant or a Buddhist - I was still serving the same God. All religions serve the same God? Maybe the same god but not the same God. They worship Satan unknowingly and that's the hard truth. Any worship not given to the true God goes to Satan and the poor worshiper doesn't know that. Roman Catholics unknowingly worship Satan whenever they pray to their saints and angels. John Paul II was even featured on Tzu Chi's Da Ai television network! There is even a Taoist temple in Davao where Catholic relics can be found on the top floor of that place of worship. There is even a Taoist temple in Hong Kong that worships the Catholic Jesus as a Taoist saint. Some Buddhists even regard Jesus as a Bodhisattva. You can imagine the confusion there.

Jesus is not as tolerant as you think in the worldly sense. It's good to be tolerant but not overly tolerant. Yes, Jesus was tolerant but towards repentant sinners seeking the truth and salvation. However, Jesus was not tolerant of other religions. I'm told to stop criticizing other people's religions. My former Catholic churchmates tell me to stop criticizing them because they're leaving me alone when I became a born-again Christian. Guess what? Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me." Jesus already stated that nobody can come to Jesus except through Him. Roman Catholicism claims to be the true Church founded in 33 AD yet why is she embracing other religions now?

When Jesus said He is the only Way - He really means business. You can't mess with the Son of God and get away with it. When God says something in the Scriptures then He means it 100%! When God says repent or perish then you better repent or perish! Jesus' intolerance towards false religions is because He can't tolerate lies. The truth can't tolerate lies. The holy, righteous God can't be unholy and unrighteous. The perfect God can't be imperfect. Saying all religions lead to God is heresy. Besides, if salvation were attained by just living a good life then Jesus died for nothing (Galatians 2:21).
