Angel of God, My Guardian Dear and Praying to Angels

One of the most common Catholic prayers I memorized aside from the "Hail Mary" is called "Angel of God". The prayer was described as a prayer to the guardian angel. Yes, guardian angels are biblical though the Bible doesn't really say that every Christian has a guardian angel. To believe that everyone including unbelievers has a guardian angel is not biblical. The prayer "Angel of God" is a prayer to one's supposed guardian angel or to ask one's guardian angel for protection. There is the problem of not just praying to saints but also praying to angels. Those two kinds of prayers are two reasons why I don't believe Catholics and born-again Christians just pray the same prayer. Some Catholics make that mistake when they think that Catholic masses and born-again Christian worship services are just essentially the same.

The problem of worshiping angels was already in Colosse. It's called Gnosticism or people made a pretense of wisdom. One of the Gnostic heresies was that they claimed themselves to be superior because they were worshiping angels. Catholics may claim that they don't worship angels but prayer and worship can't be separated. Colossians 2:18 in the Good News Translation (GNT) also says the following:
18 Do not allow yourselves to be condemned by anyone who claims to be superior because of special visions and who insists on false humility and the worship of angels. For no reason at all, such people are all puffed up by their human way of thinking

This is the problem of Catholicism whether we admit it or not. Some Catholics are claiming themselves superior over whom they deem as "Protestant" because they apparently had superior visions or were praying to angels. Who can remember the prayers done to Michael the Archangel or Gabriel? Other angels such as Raphael (only found in the Book of Tobit) and Baraquel tend to be mentioned. Praying to angels has been a very common practice in Catholicism which is no better than the practice done in Colosse.  These superior visions may also include alleged apparitions of Mary, Catholic saints, or angels to prove that the Catholic Church is supposedly the church founded in 33 A.D. Yet, Paul wrote his letter to the Colossians to be warned of such things. Would Paul even encourage the people in Colosse to pray to their guardian angels or to seek out special visions over the apostolic writings? That's a question Catholics studying the Bible right now need to ask themselves whenever they want to claim they're the true Church founded in 33 A.D.

The superiority of Jesus to angels is seen in Hebrews 1-2 to be superior to angels. Who sends the guardian angels if not Jesus? Praying to angels is really an insult because prayer belongs to the Holy Triune God and to God alone. Jesus Himself was already the eternal Son of God before the angels came into existence. The angels are but created beings. The guardian angel is but a created being. God sends the guardian angel to protect but not to receive either latria or dulia. All divine honor belongs to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - not to Mary, saints, and angels.

Revelation also has the message of the unidentified angel rebuking John. John fell down to give reverence to this unidentified angel. Yet the same angel told John in Revelation 22:9 to stand up. The same angel identified John as a fellow servant. This unidentified angel gave John a quick rebuke. The GNT also renders it as to conclude this post:

But he said to me, “Don't do it! I am a servant together with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all those who obey the words in this book. Worship God!
