Yes There Are Evangelical Scandals Involving Pastors But I've Got Some Objections

It's typical to trumpet the sins of a pastor who has sinned while they would hide the sins of the Roman Catholic priest. It's expected that a pastor who fails to be a good example should be removed from the pastorate. I don't deny that there are indeed pastors who are involved in foolishness.

However, let me cite some objections that should be heard. The objectives are as follows:
  1. No Evangelical leader ever claimed to be the infallible "Vicar of Christ" or a savior of the souls of men. If any Protestant pastor claims similar titles or claims that he can save the souls of sinners then he is automatically labeled as a false preacher.
  2. Evangelical leaders who fall into scandalous sin (or doctrinal error) are usually given their immediate chastising by their church or exposed as false preachers. It just reminds me of how pastors who have well-documented sex scandals are usually listed as such. Not to mention, some so-called Evangelical leaders involved in sex scandals are also allies of the Vatican.

Something noteworthy is that the average Roman Catholic is left out of the blue about their priests who sin. So often, cover-ups happen making it look like that there are more cases of pastors who have sinned than Roman Catholic priests who have sinned. The scandalous history records of the Popes and cardinals are also left hidden because it's bad for publicity.

Unfortunately, the doctrine that "priests save souls" (that is Roman Catholic priest) has created a culture of unhealthy fear towards the Roman Catholic faithful. The respectful fear that they have for their priests has become reverential fear due to God and God alone. How often has it that a Roman Catholic priest would use his position to supposedly "save souls" to blackmail parishioners into silence.

The only time action is given is when a Roman Catholic priest sins publicly or got caught on camera. Otherwise, a lot of these scandals are usually well-hidden. Unfortunately, some Roman Catholics still continue to be in denial that it happened out of fear of their eternal souls. They don't realize that the only real Savior of souls is the Lord Jesus Christ. Sadly, they think they can only "receive Christ" in "holy" communion rather than by trusting in Him 100% for their salvation.
